What if artificial intelligence evolved to the point where it began to suffer and became just another human-dominated species?
There are many fiction films where artificial intelligence ends up dominating humanity. Among them, I can mention “The Terminator”, “Blade Runner”, “2001, a space odyssey”, “Demon Seed” and my favorite, “The Lawnmower Man”.
In these films, programming evolved to such a level that it fed itself with learning and ended up turning against humanity. Many people still fear artificial intelligence because of this. But there is always the other side of the coin: what if computers, more intelligent, sentient, instead of turning against us, began to suffer abuse from men?
Today I was watching an agribusiness program and a huge laying hens farm, that produces 850.000 eggs daily, was the subject: several hens clustered in a cage living only to produce eggs. This gave me the idea of a factory, but instead of machines, chickens working for humanity. And I thought I’d rather these hens were just artificial, that they didn’t have a brain, an intelligence, so they wouldn’t have any awareness of their sad life.
